Mom's Surprise Birthday!

Extremely smokey conditions, a lost passport, hundreds of dollars in international roaming charges, and a speeding ticket.  These were all the challenges that we overcame in celebration of mom's 60th birthday surprise in Alberta, Canada.

Through all the setbacks, it was an extremely memorable and special trip having us all together as well as actually getting mom to cry (just a little) during the surprise!  It was also a great lesson in that regardless of how much you prepare/plan, all that matters is the company that you're with and how you shape the experiences into positive or negative memories. I'm still proud that I don't have a speeding ticket on my record...in the USA!
