Zion & Bryce Canyon National Park - July 2015
The countless National Parks of Arizona & Utah offer some of the most inspiring landscapes in the world. They are a great reminder that this country has an incredible variety of many underrated destinations. Our road trip took us from the San Francisco Bay area through Las Vegas to Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks.
At Zion, I experienced 2 of the most memorable hikes of my life: The Narrows and Angel's Landing. The Narrows is a hike that follows the Virgin River which means the majority of the hike is actually wading through the river. In certain parts, it is only 20-30 feet wide but 2000 feet deep with steep canyons surrounding both sides. Angels Landing was incredibly scary and magnificent at the same time. The views were very much worth the danger of walking on the side of cliffs during a 1500 feet elevation gain.
At Bryce Canyon we hiked through the extraterrestrial hoodoos which is truly a unique experience. The scenery definitely makes you feel that you are on another planet, secluded from all modern civilization.
